The Catholic Association for Latino Leadership (CALL) is at the crux of an important moment in our Church and country. Hispanics represent the largest, youngest, and fastest growing group in the Catholic Church in the United States. On average Hispanics are 29 years of age. “How well we engage young Hispanic Catholics now will significantly define the vibrancy of US Catholicism for the rest of the century" (Hosffman Ospino, Reflexiones: Hispanic Ministry, 2021). We have a tremendous opportunity to grow the Church and strengthen the fabric of our society through the formation of lay Catholic Latino leadership, specifically with young adults.
This year our Giving Tuesday efforts will go towards forming young adult Hispanics through several ministries:
-
Professional Mentorship: CALL Young Adult Associates are paired up with industry leaders in their field to learn about how to integrate faith in the work place.
-
Spiritual Mentorship: Inviting young adults into a deeper relationship with Christ through one-on-one spiritual direction.
-
Encounter Retreat: Helping young adults meet Christ through the Eucharist, community, engaging speakers and music.
-
Missionary Discipleship Retreat: Helping young adults discover their gifts and talents so that they can use them for the Church and the world. This retreat will also empower young adults to evangelize others in their every day life.
-
Faith Formation: In small groups, unpacking and growing with one another, learning the basic tenants of our Catholic faith.
We are grateful for your prayerful consideration in join us in forming young adult leaders. Our goal is $10,000. Thank you for helping us to reach our goal. How well we engage young Hispanic Catholics now will significantly define the vibrancy of US Catholicism for the rest of the century.
